Farson Modification of Crawford tube

Home
Stenting is a common addition to probing for care of Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction. It may work similarly to placing a clear "post" after piercing to allow proper healing for earrings. The recurrance rate for tear duct obstruction following simple probing is higher than after silicone stenting. the late Jack Crawford from Tornoto developed an excellent set of probes and stents for tear duct care. Dr. Arnold, after a suggestion from Dr. Clyde Farson- Alaska Native medical Center, modified the Crawford tube set to treat bilateral tear ducts with one set. Parents can easily remove the Farson Crawford Tube set usually 4 weeks after surgery.
